The Gettysburg Address Adventure

I have had all of my Christmas break, which is all of December, so memorize the Gettysburg Address. This is really not too much to ask. In one month, a short little speech like this should be easily memorized. Of course I didn't start working on it until right before Christmas. :) I tried walking around while I memorized it, listening to it in song form, and learning to play it in song form, but none of these seemed to help. So I got out my giant dry erase board and started writing it out over and over and over and over. This is how I have successfully memorize the Gettysburg Address. About 99% at least. Today I got bored of writing, so I started to draw out the scene of this major event. This is what I came up with. :)
He is saying "The world will little note, nor long remember, what we say here..." Kind of ironic, right? I probably could be done memorizing it in the time it took me to draw that many stick people, but of course I could not have done that. :)

P.S. If you click on the picture, it will get bigger for you.

Isaiah 43:1-7

"But now thus says the Lord, 'Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I give Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in exchange for you. Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life. Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east, and from the west I will gather you. I will say to the north, Give up, and to the south Do not withhold; bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth, everyone who is called in my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.'"

Ski Trip Fundraiser

My youth group is going on a ski trip and I have to pay my own way, so I am making homemade cards raise the funds. Here is a picture of the cards I am making.

Sorry the purple one is so shiny, there is foil in the paper, so it is hard to get a picture. :( I am selling them in packs of 8 (two of each style) for $16. If anyone is interested, you can comment below. I will put whatever letter you would like. (K was just an example)

Daddy-daughter Date

Today I got to have a date with the best dad in the world. :) At 9:00 this morning, I took him to go see 'Les Miserables'. It was my second time seeing it, but enjoyed it just as much. (I didn't cry as much this time.) After that we went to lunch at a Chinese restaurant that we have been wanting to try. It was delicious!! They give you a lot of food though, so we brought home about half of each of our lunches. I will not mind eating it tomorrow for lunch. :) Then we had to go get the car washed. After that we came home. Dad and Caleb had to run some errands, so I stayed home with Mom and worked on a project of mine, which I will post about later. Overall it has been a very enjoyable first day of the year.

Psalm 31:24

"Be strong, and let your hearts take courage, all you who wait for the Lord."
