This morning, Dad was typing a message to someone and said "I before e except after c." Caleb the said "But that does not apply to all words, like weird and neighbor." So the new grammar rule in our house is "I before e except after c, unless it's your weird neighbor."
That's funny! But...i is after e in both weird and neighbor...I thought it was: 'i BEFORE (sorry, can't italicize anything)e except after c'...or is that part of the joke?
