Misty, McDonalds, and Moon-man

Today is a gorgeous almost 70 degree day. It is really windy, but that makes it more fun. Misty does not like it at all when it is windy though. At the moment, I am sitting on the couch and she is standing on the arm rest beside me. This has been the most strange winter that I can remember. This is the second time it has been in the 60's and it is only March! Trust me, I don't mind it a bit. Earlier today we took Misty for a walk and she was running ahead of us and then bulleting back. Bulleting is when she runs as fast as she can and pins her ears to the side of her head. It is really cute.

This weekend I went to see my friend's audition for Music Man. She made it in as a towns lady. I cannot wait to go see the show. I know it will be excellent because I have been to see another show that CYT (Christian Youth Theater) has done. After the auditions, we went to dinner at Chick-fil-a and then made a quick stop at McDonalds. You are probably wondering why we would stop at McDonalds right after eating dinner. Last time we went to watch auditions we drove thru this same McDonalds and saw a curious sight. This time we wanted to get a picture.

You are probably just as curious as we were. It is a man with a moon head playing a gorgeous baby grand piano. I thought maybe the piano was a self-playing piano, but it is not. Honestly, there is no point in this strange thing, but we thought it was amusing and worth taking a picture.

IKEA

Today our family went to IKEA. We just went to look around for fun. It is a huge store. The top floor is rooms set up that you can look at and sit on all the couches and beds and stuff. The bottom floor is where all of the stuff is kept and where you can actually buy it. Also on the top floor is a Swedish restaurant. We had lunch there and I had swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes and gravy. It is super good! Dad had some sort of fish with french fries. Caleb had chicken strips with french fries. Mom had the same thing I did. Dad and Caleb both got dessert too. Dad had a piece of an apple pie like thing and Caleb had a delicious chocolate mousse cake. I got to eat half of Caleb's cake because he could not finish it. Mom got some stuff for her Sunday school class to play with while we were there. I got a new bedspread that is a shiny brown with embroidered flowers on the top. The flowers are dark brown. It is almost a gold. It looks really cool with my periwinkle room. 

Blisters, Bruises, and Dancing

Friday night we had our youth group's annual ice skating trip. It was so much fun! Afterwards I found out that I had blisters on the sides of my feet and bruises on my ankles. Besides all of this I had shin splints. (fun...right?) It was well worth it though.

Saturday was my dance recital for tap. We danced to "Get me to the Church on Time" by Rosemary Clooney. The younger girls also preformed. They did "Friend like Me" from Aladin. It was so cute to watch them all try so hard to get it right. Our dance went really well and we all had a lot of fun. I am sad that classes are over now and that we won't have anything for the spring semester. It is probably good though, because then we will appreciate it more when it comes back.

Parodies and Video Taping

Today on the way home from Oak Forest, Caleb was playing the song "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald". Anyone who has heard this song knows that it never ends and is really slow. As soon as it started playing, I promptly said "Can we just have the Tim Hawkins version?". Tim Hawkins, who is a comedian, wrote a one verse version. It is "The story lives on of the boat she went down and the people all died...bummer." It goes to the same tune and has all the major points, but it is much shorter. :)

One of our good friends asked me and Caleb to video tape one of her classes for her website. It was a C.S.I (crime scene investigation) class. They are extremely interesting so I did not mind. This is the reason we were in Oak Forest. I never knew that video taping was so much work! I was just using a portable camera. Thankfully, there were two sessions of the same class so we got a second try. I had to get the right angles and figure out which information was important and what was not. I have not watched any of the videos yet, but I am a little scared to.

Lord of the Ringsathon

Yesterday was the annual Lord of the Ringsathon. We sit and watch all three Lord of the Rings movies consecutively. It is 12 hours long and we get a ton of junk food all day. It was a lot of fun. There were surround sound speakers that were turned up really loud. Unfortunately, the next day is not real pleasant. I am extraordinarily tired, but it was all worth it.

Panera and Princess Leia

Today I went to Panera bread with my mom because she had a meeting. The person she was meeting with brought her kids. Her youngest is an 8 year old princess. My hair was in two braids and the princess decided to do my hair. She twisted each braid up individually on the sides of my head. I looked like Princess Leia from Star Wars. All the simple little things that life can bring from a little breakfast and a little princess.

Happy belated Birthday Daddy!

Saturday was Dad's birthday. We went to Chick-fil-a for lunch and then got a cheesecake from Bakers Square for dessert. Sunday Dad did not go to church because he was not feeling too good. Monday we found out that he had strep throat so now we are all being really careful trying not to catch it. Misty is being very caring with all of us, but especially Dad. Right now Caleb is laying on the floor and she is licking his face making sure there are no leftovers from lunch.

Choir started last night and I am enjoying learning the new songs. Well, it actually started last week, but I could not make it then. So this was my first week. Both the songs are really pretty, but singing second soprano is very difficult sometimes. Especially when there are only four of us and a bunch of first sopranos.
